Frequently Asked Questions

  1. I retired from the elementary system. Am I eligible to be a member of ARM and in particular Chapter 25?
  2. I lost my Chapter 25 affiliation card and my OSSTF Edvantage card. How can I get them replaced?
  3. I need information about my pension plan (OMERS/OTPP). Who do I contact?
  4. Can my significant other attend Chapter 25 breakfast meetings, luncheons and other events.
  5. I have a general question about health insurance not related to the various education health plans available. Who can I contact in confidence?
  6. I have changed my address and/or other items (name, email, etc.). Who should I advise so that I continue to receive Chapter 25 information?
  7. I need some detailed information about the ARM Health Plan. How do I get clarification?
  8. I am an ARM member in an area without a Chapter. Can I join Chapter 25 or any other existing chapter? Also, how do I investigate the possibility of starting a chapter in my area?
  9. I wish to learn more about Chapter 25's Portugal venture. How can I get more information?

 1. Absolutely! Just follow the directions shown on the joining page. Chapter 25 accord all of its members equal privileges within the chapter.

 2. In the case of your Chapter 25 affiliation card, contact Terry Taller at 613-592-4137 and leave a message. In the case of your OSSTF Edvantage card, call OSSTF at 1-800-267-7867 (toll free).

 3. You can contact OMERS by going to their contact us page on their website at www.omers.com/Contact_us.htm

or phone them toll free at 1-800-387-0813. For the teachers pension plan you can go to the contact page on their website at  www.otpp.com/web/website.nsf/web/howtocontactus or phone toll free at 1-800-668-0105. In both cases the folks are incredibly helpful. However, do have your SIN number handy to facilitate your enquiry.

 4. Yes, our meetings are open to members, members of their family and friends. However, certain events are RSVP events. Be sure to include them when you reply.

 8. Yes. If you go to the Organization page on this website, you will see where there are currently existing chapters. By contacting OSSTF, arrangements can be made to make you a member of Chapter 25 or any one of the other existing chapters. Alternatively, you can contact OSSTF and request that you be added to that chapter's database.
